2026 NTUST BME Alumni Homecoming Event: Sharing Experiences, Inspiring the Future

On March 21, 2026 coinciding with the 51st Anniversary Celebration and Sports Day of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME) warmly hosted its Alumni Homecoming event. Alumni from various cohorts were invited to return to campus, reconnect with faculty and peers, and witness the institute’s growth and achievements in recent years.

The event brought together alumni across generations, creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere. In addition to reminiscing about their time on campus, participants engaged in meaningful exchanges that fostered stronger connections within the BME community. A highlight of the event was the alumni sharing session, where distinguished graduates offered valuable insights from their academic and professional journeys.

Dr. Yi-Fan Wu, a member of the institute’s first graduating class (Yr 2011) and currently a faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ming Chuan University, shared his experience of pursuing advanced studies after completing his master’s degree and eventually entering academia. He also introduced his recent research directions and provided thoughtful guidance for students aspiring to academic careers.

Mr. Yin-Chuang Lin delivered a highly practical session on job interviews, covering key aspects such as initial communication with employers, appropriate attire, and post-interview etiquette. His comprehensive advice offered second-year master’s students, who are about to enter the job market, a clearer understanding of how to prepare effectively and approach interviews with confidence.

Mr. Di-Jie Wu shared his post-graduation career path and professional experiences, offering perspectives from industry practice. His reflections encouraged students to think critically about their own career planning while also emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance - an insight that resonated strongly with the audience.

The event also welcomed many alumni from the first and second graduating classes, who now bring over a decade of experience in academia and industry. Through their sincere and generous sharing, they reflected on challenges they had encountered and lessons learned along the way. This spirit of mentorship and knowledge transfer truly exemplifies the strong sense of community within the BME program.

The Graduate Institute of Biomedical Engineering takes great pride in the accomplishments of its alumni, who in turn remain deeply connected to their alma mater. This Homecoming event not only strengthened alumni ties but also built a meaningful bridge between past and present, ensuring that experiences are passed on and aspirations continue to flourish.
